VASYLI + McPOIL

SPORTS INJURY RECOVERY
STYLE: 71MCP

The VASYLI + McPoil tissue stress relief prefabricated foot orthotic is the result of a collaboration between Phillip Vasyli and Prof. Thomas G. McPoil, PhD, PT, ATC. In 1995, together with Gary Hunt, Tom introduced the concept of load deformation curve, which became the basis of a tissue stress model.

The VASYLI + McPoil orthotic is based on a dual-density construction designed to allow for normal foot pronation but to prevent over pronation. Ideal for conditions of hypermobility or Achilles stress resulting from traumatic supination (sports injuries), the VASYLI + McPoil provides relief and enhances recovery. Tom has utilized this construction during decades of practice, treating a wide range of lower-limb biomechanical disorders in both athletes and non-athletes.

VASYLI’s expertise in orthotic design and manufacturing enabled Tom’s successful in-house product to become available to practitioners around the world.

HOW THEY WORK

mcpoil-foot1.gif

The soft polyurethane top layer provides comfortable cushion and allows normal pronation.

The firm bottom layer reduces harmful deformation of the soft tissue due to excessive pronation, enhancing injury recovery.
